What do I ask?
To see the sacred everywhere, every day
To stay connected to a deep, true story of what I am doing here and how to live
To stay connected to the mythical, mystical dimension of reality
To walk in a world of magic, which is always here and here and here, now and now and now
To remember that meaning exists, yes, but also to feel it, to taste it
Not simple asks for someone who grew up and lives in a culture of forgetting and denial –
Not just me, but all of us.
Faced with a barrage of the daily reminders we all absorb that it’s not true, that it’s not real, that we have to take care of A, B, and C, and pay attention to E, F, G, and arrange H, I, J, and get enough of K, L, M, and so on –
Preserving connection, awareness, openness, requires maintenance.
It requires self-awareness and ongoing work with a variety of tools
And it also requires sisters and brothers on the path, to remind us when we forget or are distracted or plagued by doubts
It’s our inherent interbeing that we are not supposed to hold the new-ancient story by ourselves, or create a new world by ourselves.
It is so important to have people in our lives and support and practice to strengthen us and get us back on track again and again.
To remind us why we came and how we want to live
To tell a different story, which together we can weave into the reality of our lives.
